Potential Electrical Hazard

Some unit owners have expereinced problems with their electrical panels that could be hazardous. If you have breakers that constantly go off or sparking, you should consider getting an electrician or home inspector to look at your panel. It is believed that the problem may be that some of the panels contain an aluminum bracket that is not as safe as newer copper panels.

Whether you are a renter or an owner, we extend a warm welcome to you.
You can find a wealth of information about Shearwater on this website, including information about how to contact the property manager (Brodie Management, 410-571-1400), copies of association by-laws, a list of reliable resources, minutes for all association meetings, information about the marina, floating docks and kayak rack, answers to Frequently Asked Questions, and a directory of community residents.
For a complete list of rules and regulations, see the documents section on the website. There are a few rules that may not be obvious but can go a long way toward being a good neighbor. Most have to do with parking, trash disposal, and the marina. Please make yourself familiar with the following rules, and take the time to review the complete regulations on the website.
Parking
1 Only 2 cars per unit may be registered with property management and stickers must be displayed on rear bumper or window (if you are a renter, the owner must provide property manager with copy of lease in order to secure stickers).
2 Commercial vehicles or vehicles that extend beyond the length of the 17-foot parking space divider lines when parked front end in are forbidden from parking on Shearwater property.
3 Parking is head-in only.
4 Guests must park in guest slots only.
5 Violators will be towed after a warning.
Trash
1 Boxes need to broken down at dumpster.
2 If blue recycled bins are full, please put paper or recyclables in main dumpsters. Do not leave on ground near blue bins.
3 There are 2 dumpster locations. If one is filled, try the other location. Do not leave trash on the ground.
Marina
1 You must contact the dockmaster regarding use of slip, floating dock or kayak rack (Scott Ligon, Dockmaster

2 Do not place a boat or kayak in the marina facility even temporarily without contacting the dockmaster.

Like Bike?

We have quite a few bikes in the Clubhouse and we don't know if they all belong to someone or not. Please help us out by putting some ID on your bike. A luggage tag or a label would help us inventory the bikes that are there and get rid of unclaimed bicycles so that there will be room for others to store their bikes there. Thank you. When there is important news for the entire Shearwater community we put out an email e-lert. Your email address will not be added to the Shearwater directory unless you request it, and the email elerts are reserved only for important news. If you have not already signed up for the e-lerts, send an email to the Shearwater webmaster and put Shearwater Elert in the subject line.
Reminder on Need for Permits
The City of Annapolis reminds owners who are contemplating interior renovations to their condo unit, that a building permit is required. Typically your contractor would apply for this permission.
